We love pjs. In fact, a large proportion of what you read in Mutiny Kids or on the blog has been written while I wear the ‘working at home from 9pm-3am while everyone else sleeps’ mum-uniform of pjs, fluffy socks, teamed with chipped nail polish and a hair bobbin of Penny’s that really isn’t big enough to go round my ponytail twice creating a less than flattering up do!
The one part of my appearance that I’m happy with, from that charming description is…my Mama Jyms from The Bright Company. I got them at Christmas, (family twinning all round!) and I love them. The slim leg, the flattering shape to the long sleeved top, and the print all make for a cosy ensemble that I will willingly wear as I answer the door to the postman the next morning. The Mutiny Dad of this house has a pair too, and Penny loves hers. We are PJ/loungewear addicts and proud. We don’t seem to be able to look as awesome as the family in this image though, but hey, we’ll keep trying.
The Bright Company, who we had the pleasure of catching up with at Dot to Dot in London recently, will release their SS16 collection this Friday. It will include this season’s new print is called ‘Nutty Bees’ and was designed in collaboration with British children’s illustrator and author, Sarah Dyer.
As with previous collections, there will be a range of styles available in the print. You can choose from Slim Jyms (as mentioned, my personal favourite) or Slack Jyms which have a roomier leg. The new unisex boxer style set would be perfect as a daytime summer outfit or as pjs when these storms finally quit their messing, and the nights are a bit warmer.
We love the pops of colour on the neckline, and cuffs. It’s details like those that make these pjs stand out, making them as stylish, as they are comfortable to wear. That comfort is thanks to the super soft cotton fabric that is used across the whole range.
Mama and Dada Jyms are back too (Woo!…..’oh Mutiny Daaaaddddd, who wants an idea for a twinning valenttiinnneeeessssss photo?’) as are the ever popular polka moon print, that we have seen in previous seasons.
The next bit is very exciting for interior addicts like the Mutiny Kids team….BEDDING! Every week we get emails and messages asking where to get cool bedding, and The Bright Company are top of our (not very long) list of places to check out. The duvet and pillow case sets in the ‘nutty bees’ print will be available to fit cot bed or single beds, and there is also a matching blanket perfect for a swaddle or pram blanket for Mutiny Tots
