If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairytales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairytales. ~ Albert Einstein

Happy World Book Day

We expect there are lots of little ones headed into school today dressed as The Grufflo, Harry Potter and Uni the Unicorn.

Mutiny Kids LOVE books. We have shelves and shelves of the most beautifully illustrated pages, containing stories that take us away from the dishes, and into the world of our babies’ imagination. There is nothing better than the gift of reading to your child.

Gail Condon, is the author of the beautifully handcrafted book series ‘Writing for Tiny’.  These highly personalised children’s books prepare your child for big events in their lives. Made in Ireland, and registered book binders on the Craft Council of Ireland, the Writing for Tiny team create stories for your child to help them though milestones and changes in their lives.

They have recently added larger soft back books to their collection.

We love how these books are not created simply by adding in your child’s name. Each book is built and created on their website www.writingfortiny.com by you, the person who knows your child best. You can choose what topic you want the story to be about, and give your character individual traits. By adding grandparents, brothers and sisters and even pets, it really makes the book THEIRS.

Each book is hand stitched, and at 64 pages long, they are unique to any other that we own.

To celebrate World Book Day, and the upcoming launch of their new bigger soft cover books, Writing for Tiny have given us TWO copies of ‘Super Duper’ which helps prepare children for the arrival of a new brother or sister. The winners will be able to create their books online.

Never knew these existed. These books will really help my autistic son transition when life throws him a curve ball like another new sibling I am currently expecting.

Shona Byrne

My favourite book at the moment is ‘room on a broom’ by Julia Donaldson, my 20 month old daughter adores it and we read it every morning. She especially loves the dragon who wants ‘witch & chips’ for his tea!
